We stitch stories of
women empowerment.
In India, many women are primarily responsible for caring for their families and children, often becoming financially dependent on their husbands. When the breadwinner of the family, typically the husband requires dialysis treatment, the dependent wives experience mental trauma and significant stress as they struggle to manage expenses and make ends meet.
To improve the livelihoods of these dependent women, ensuring them a promising future and instilling hope, we have installed 8 sewing machines in the waiting room. Since a dialysis process
takes about 4 hours to complete, we utilize this time to teach and equip women with fundamental sewing skills. These classes are provided free of charge. Upon completing the course, if the women express interest in pursuing sewing as a career, we not only gift them a new sewing machine but also enroll them in government women empowerment programs. These programs focus on utilizing their skills to stitch jute bags, which are actively promoted by the government for sale. This initiative aims to help these women rebuild their lives through skill development and economic empowerment.
Our initiative provides free sewing classes and machines to dependent
women, fostering independence and self-sustainability.
